Churchill Downs' $9 Million "Southern Mansion"
Earlier this week, Churchill Downs released the details of a major renovation that will take place at the track before next May’s Kentucky Derby. As had been widely suspected, the sixth floor media center—one of the most spacious press boxes in racing, with a multi-tiered balcony for prime race viewing—will be converted to a luxury hospitality area that has been dubbed, apparently without irony, “The Mansion.”
